Artist Biography

I began working with pottery to create a surface to paint on. I did not realize I would fall in love with this medium the first day I took a hand-building class. Fast forward 23 years, and I find myself presenting my second art show at Hood College.

My sculptures combine geometric forms, positive and negative spaces, and carved and stamped elements. Terra sigillata and oxide patinas recreate the surface of architecture weathered by the passage of time

I am a Puerto Rican/American artist, a proud mother of two, and a grandmother. I have always loved creating things. I have a degree in accounting and have worked in this profession for the last 37 years. In 2022, I decided it was time to retire from accounting and pursue the art degree I had always wanted to complete.
